Shardfall
A downloadable game for Windows
Shardfall is a 1v1 auto battler roguelite set in a dark medieval fantasy world. You and your enemy take turns attacking each other automatically, with the outcome of every fight determined by how well you've built and positioned your inventory.
Items are everything. Every item you carry contributes stats, but the real power comes from synergies — placing matching items next to each other in your inventory amplifies their effects based on rarity and positioning. A cluster of axes hits harder together. Plate armour pieces protect more as a set. Learning what goes where is the core skill of Shardfall.
| Potions keep you alive when it matters most. A dedicated potion sits outside your inventory and can be used at any time. Press Spacebar or click the potion icon to heal for a percentage of your max HP. The number beneath the icon shows your remaining charges.
Herbs drop from enemies and appear in shops, and slotting them into your potion infuses it with additional effects on top of the base heal: Sage Leaf — applies a decaying regen effect scaling with your Regen stat and herb rarity Blood Rose — temporarily boosts your Magic and Ward, scaling with herb rarity Scarlet Maple — temporarily boosts your Physical and Armour, scaling with herb rarity The herbs you find shape your potion into a healing tool, a combat cooldown, or a stat burst, or sometimes all three at once |
Forge your way to power. Combine three items of the same name or stat type to forge a single more powerful item, carrying over augments from all three. Push further and forge three legendaries of the same name and stat to create a Mythic item — the most powerful tier in the game.
Sigils bring magic to your inventory. Sigil items sit among your gear and read what's above and below them. Each neighbouring item's family determines which spell the Sigil casts when the cast bar fires. Place a Berserker weapon above and a Primalist totem below, and your Sigil casts two different spells simultaneously. Sigils placed next to other Sigils build Attunement; the stat that scales spell power. The higher your total Attunement, combined with the rarity of the Sigil and its neighbours, the harder your spells hit. A Sigil surrounded by high rarity matching items becomes a devastating force. Duplicate spells stack. Two Berserker items flanking the same Sigil means that spell fires at double power.
Craft and augment. Three crafting materials; Linen, Scrap and Organic, drop from defeated enemies. Spend them to augment items with bonus stats. The material you use determines your primary stat boost, and the item type you craft on determines a secondary bonus.
Build your character. Six classes; Warrior, Rogue, Paladin, Mage, Druid and Warlock. Each with unique stat bonuses that define your starting identity. From there, the items you loot, the synergies you build, the spells you equip and the Shards you collect shape every run differently.
Survive the roguelite loop. Enemies get stronger as you level up. When you clear an area's bosses you can ascend, resetting your items and level but keeping your Shards, the game's meta progression system. Shards are powerful persistent effects that carry across every run, earned by defeating bosses and empowered when you ascend.
Disclaimer: Game is in heavy development, there probably will be bugs, though this version as far as i have tested is quite stable.
